It spaces boards evenly & inserts coated deck screws into the edges of the boards within the gaps between rows, rather than through the top of the boards, leaving no unsightly screws, nail heads or splintering. This freestanding deck has large diameter footings, 6"x6" posts, triple 12" girder w/spacers to keep moisture out, and 2"x10" joists anchored onto the girder with hurricane ties to prevent uplift. Lastly, bracing between posts helps prevent racking movement from the freestanding unit.
